On paper I’m an psychodynamic psychotherapist but I believe different people and different problems often need different approaches and so I don’t work in a staid fashion. I aim for a collaborative approach, always.
Ultimately, the relationship between you and your therapist is the most important thing about psychotherapy, so really trust your instincts on who feels like the best person for you to contact.
After that, talking together with someone outside of your day to day life who is curious, interested and trained to listen to things in a different way can be tremendously helpful. Sometimes it's just not possible for us to make sense of everything by ourselves, and problems don't ever tend to just go away.
working together
in-person & online
I offer once or twice weekly sessions of inclusive, contemporary and collaborative psychotherapy, welcoming people of all genders and sexual diversities, from all walks of life, with whatever it is that's on their mind.
While my practice is predominantly online, I do offer face to face sessions on a monthly basis in London for those who want that.
I am lucky to work with a truly diverse group of people of all ages and of all colours and creeds and would be happy to discuss whether you feel I might be someone you would like to work with.
training & qualifications
PgDip MA in psychodynamic psychotherapy
I completed my PgDip MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at WPF Therapy, and although this is my predominant modality, the work that I do is not limited to it.
I have over 10 years experience of working therapeutically with adults within my own private practice, an esteemed training organisation and several specialist charities, including work as a specialist trauma counsellor, group facilitator and assessor for North London Rape Crisis and Solace Women's Aid.
I attend regular CPD training all year round, covering a wide range of relevant topics and up-to-the-minute thinking.
experience
I have a great deal of experience surrounding domestic violence and abuse, childhood sexual abuse, rape and other experiences of sexual violence, trauma and people suffering from PTSD, those affected by suicide and suicidal feelings, adoptees and LGBTQIA+ identified people.
therapies offered
Psychoanalytical and psychodynamic
Psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapies look at how your unconscious thoughts and perceptions developed throughout your childhood, and how this may affect your current behaviour and thoughts.
Psychodynamic therapy (also known as psychodynamic counselling) is a therapeutic approach that combines parts of many different types of analytic therapies. Psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapies work on the idea that each individual’s unconscious thoughts and perceptions are developed throughout their childhood. These unconscious thoughts and perceptions affect their current behaviours and thoughts.
Relationship counselling (also known as 'couples counselling' or 'marriage counselling') is an effective form of talking therapy designed to resolve issues within an intimate relationship.
